Our team

Joel Wickman

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science (Majoring in Exercise Physiology)
  • Master of Occupational Therapy
  • Qualified Autism Spectrum Disorder assessor (ADOS-2)

Joel is an AHPRA registered Senior Occupational Therapist based in Geelong, Victoria. Joel has extensive experience working in a variety of settings ranging from adult inpatient Acquired Brain Injuries in a hospital setting, to community-based paediatrics. Joel is a qualified Autism assessor, and regularly collaborates with Psychologists to ascertain diagnosis. Joel is a passionate and dedicated clinician who strives to achieve the best outcomes from his clients by working closely in a strengths based/client-centred manner. Joel lives in Geelong with his wife and two children and has interests in sport, self-proclaimed foodie, and being outdoors. In Joel’s spare time he volunteers as a CFA firefighter, and enjoys working on house projects.

Carl Daffy

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

Carl is an Occupational Therapist with experience in community paediatrics and adult care. While studying at Deakin University in Geelong, he worked as a Support Worker and Therapy Assistant, providing both residential and community support.

Carl has particular experience and interest in working with children, adolescents, and adults with ASD, anxiety, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities. He aims to support children, in collaboration with their families, to achieve their goals and improve their independence, happiness, and well-being in everyday life. Carl strives to create safe, trustworthy, and fun environments for children and their families to engage in therapy.

Committed to professional growth, Carl stays updated with the latest therapy practices, continuously enhancing his skills. Outside of work, he enjoys participating in various sports, camping adventures, and spending quality time with his family and pets.

Christine Edwards

Qualifications:

Master of Occupational Therapy Practice – La Trobe University 

Bachelor of Health Sciences, Major of Public Health – La Trobe University

Christine Edwards has experience as an Occupational Therapist in the public mental health system, both metropolitan and regional. Christine has worked with all ages across the lifespan experiencing significant mental health challenges in both inpatient and community settings. Christine is passionate about building clients functional capacity in everyday activities that clients find meaningful. Christine has experience working with clients who have dual diagnosis and neurodivergent individuals with co-occuring conditions, including depression and anxiety. Christine works from a trauma informed approach and is always client and family centered. Christine also has experience working in primary schools. This role involved completing assessments to identify goals, strengths and barriers to children’s learning and recommending changes to the environment to increase the child’s participation in the school setting.

Jed Woods

Qualifications:

Studying Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

Certificate III in Education Support

Jed is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University in Geelong.  Jed has experience working in both primary and secondary school-based settings, where he has supported children with additional needs and behavioural challenges.

Jed is passionate about challenging himself and collaborating with Occupational Therapists to deliver personalised, meaningful support. He values learning through experience and strives to create positive, engaging environments that promote each client’s growth and independence.

In his spare time, Jed loves to get out on the golf course, have a kick of the footy, and spend time with friends and family.

Lily Stacey

Qualifications:

Studying Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

Lily is an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) at Function Focus Allied health. She is undertaking a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Deakin University. Lily has experience working with children in a school-based setting, as well as in adult sub-acute and community-based hospital settings.

Lily is passionate about working closely with Occupational Therapists to support children and their families to improve their overall wellbeing. She aims to provide client-centred practice that optimises independence and allows clients to reach their full potential. Lily is eager to continue to learn and grow in this field to ensure she provides the best support possible to both clients and their families.

In her spare time, Lily enjoys being active, cooking sweet treats, watching tv shows and spending time with friends and family.

Jessica Kocovski

Jess joins our team as an Allied Health Assistant. Jess has extensive experience in early childhood education and specialises in working with children with additional needs. Her expertise also extends to supporting secondary school students with trauma-based and behavioural challenges, as well as providing mental health interventions for families.

Passionate about helping others, Jess believes in a personalised approach, recognising that everyone is unique and requires individualised care.

Based in Geelong, Jess enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, going on holiday adventures, and indulging in cooking and baking. She’s also a big footy fan!
